Norrsundet is situated 40 km north of Gävle in central Sweden. This is where Colabit is building the large-scale biorefinery for renewable fuels. The Port of Norrsundet is adjacent to the site and is important for our future logistics.
Since September 2020, Colabit Sweden has owned the Port of Norrsundet, which is located in the heart of Central Sweden’s logistics hub. Many logistics routes are nearby – both for transporting goods within Sweden or around the world.
In addition to Colabit as a tenant in the port, there are also external industrial tenants that capitalize on both the large areas of land and the excellent accessibility. The port handles both incoming and outgoing cargo and can provide temporary storage in the port’s warehouses or outdoor storage spaces.
Some tenant operations are related to biofuels such as pellets, shavings and wood chips. Premises are also rented out to other companies that have their operations in the area.
The operations at the port are managed by Norrsundet’s stevedore.
A broad service offering
The port is perfectly adapted for sea transport. Our two quays are 600 meters long and can accommodate vessels up to 14 meters long, 16 meters wide and 6.2 meters deep. We offer a wide range of services to handle incoming and outgoing cargo, such as unloading and loading, packaging, weighing and various shipping options. There are also extensive warehouse services. Goods arriving at the port can be temporarily stored in one of our warehouses, including heated spaces, or on outdoor storage spaces.
A safe and sustainable port
The port is operated with a clear focus on energy and the environment, in the same way as other parts of Colabit’s operations. The ambition is to continue to develop the port, which forms an important part of our Group – where sustainability is always in focus.
